Stuart, FL, June 24, 2015 – The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Illinois, has donated $10,000 to Molly’s House, Inc., in support of its mission to provide a home-away-from-home for families during a medical crisis.
“This grant will be used to provide food for families and guests while they or their loved ones receive medical treatment on the Treasure Coast,” said Marney McKee, Operations Manager, Molly’s House. “We support keeping families together during what can be emotionally and financially difficult times. We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”
Molly’s House programs currently serve patients and families from local hospitals, cancer treatment centers, hospice, doctor referrals, and other health facilities on the Treasure Coast. There’s often a need for guests to travel to be with a loved one who resides locally. Preparing a meal or shopping for groceries is often a hardship when days and nights are spent caring for a loved one or after treatment as a patient. Through donations, Molly’s House is able to provide guests with a temporary place to rest, a meal, and a place to share experiences with others.
This donation was recommended by Shelley Thayer, District Director of Customer Service for W.W. Grainger, Inc. Grainger has been a part of the Treasure Coast business community for approximately 35 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by Molly’s House,” said Thayer. “We understand the need for providing meals and a temporary home-away-from-home for individuals and families during a medical crisis.”
The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Illinois, was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger, founder of W.W. Grainger, Inc.
