Beauty and Imagination Come Alive in September

A Quince Quaintance painting.

Stuart, FL – Molly’s Gallery, part of Molly’s House Art & Healing program, is blooming with beauty and imagination throughout September with the artwork of photographers Damon and Derek Freijomel and artist and illustrator Bogdan Kravchenko.  Gordon & Doner are the sponsors for the opening Champagne reception is on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at 430 SE Osceola Street, Stuart, FL.  While guests sip their glasses of bubbly, their imaginations will take flight as they contemplate the unique and fairy tale like artwork throughout the gallery.  The artists will be in attendance to meet and mingle with guests as well.  Enhancing the evening is keyboardist Ryan Ruskin playing jazz and classical music.  For more information about Molly’s Gallery, contact Debra Carttar at 772.223.6659 Monday-Friday from 1 PM to 5 PM.

Twins Damon and Derek Freijomel grew up in Stuart, Florida graduating from Jensen Beach High School.  They both now attend Indian River State College and plan to continue their education at Florida Atlantic University with dreams of a career in photography.  The Freijomel’s have developed a local following for their exquisite photographs.  Their work has been on display at local restaurants and art galleries.  The Freijomel’s photographs encompass people and places such as Los Angeles, the Cayman Islands, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Malibu, Mexico, the Dry Tortugas and of course, Stuart, FL.  The twins are the photographers for the Barn Theater productions as well.   Their surprising eye for balance, beauty and characters belies their young age.

Born and raised in Eastern Europe, Bogdan Kravchenko studied at Kyiv Art & Design and later, earned a Fine Arts Master’s degree in book graphics at Kyiv State Academy of Arts.  Kravchenko has led an exciting career in advertising winning numerous awards at international ad festivals.  As an illustrator, Kravchenko used his talents to develop the art concept for prominent Russian writer M. Bulgakov including all publishing materials, posters, etc.  Kravchenko’s recent work appears mysterious and emotionally charged with traces of a decorative approach bordering on the grotesque and surrealism.  His paintings have a fairy tale like appeal featuring birds, beasts and people.  Kravchenko favors personifying animals with human features.  In simple words, his work is a separate world full of imagination.

Molly’s Gallery is part of Molly’s House Art and Healing program for the patients and families who stay at Molly’s House during a medical crisis.  Thank you to Gordon & Doner of Palm Beach Gardens for sponsoring Molly’s Gallery for the month of September.  If you or your company is interested in sponsoring Molly’s Gallery, contact Debra Carttar at 772.223.6659 Monday-Friday between 1 PM and 5 PM or e-mail her at receptiondesk@mollyshouse.org.
